Boating, Fishing, and Travel Information for Fort Matanzas, ICWW, FL

Fort Matanzas is a national monument near the city of St. Augustine, FL in St. Johns County. The fort was built by the Spanish in 1742, with the purpose of protecting the southern mouth of Matanzas River, an entrance to St. Augustine. The fort, along with the surrounding 100 acres consisting of salt marshes and barrier islands, are now part of the National Park Service.
