Boating, Fishing, and Travel Information for Key Colony Beach, FL

Key Colony Beach is located in Monroe County, FL and is one of the middle Florida Keys. Originally, Key Colony Beach was part of Shelter Key, but after dredging around the island and building it up in height, the island was incorporated into its own city. In 1960 when the town underwent serious damage from Hurricane Donna, the fact that it is its own town allowed it to receive its own federal grant put towards rebuilding. The island is connected to Marathon, FL via the Sadowski Causeway.
