The town of St. Lucie, also known as St. Lucie Village, is located in St. Lucie County along the Indian River that runs between the mainland and barrier islands. The town includes the St. Lucie Village Historic District, which is part of the National Register of Historic Places due to the architecture and historical significance of the structures in the area. One of the points of interest is the area where Fort Capron, a structure built in the 1850s during the third Seminole War, was built. Now, a monument stands where the fort once was.
